Hello World!

If you're a WordPress user, you'll notice today's title is the very same default title used when you first install WordPress. I did that because it has been a long time since I have returned to my blog and to my website in general, and this is my return! ^_^ I have revamped my blog and I'm in the process of revamping the rest of the domain, if anyone's still surprisingly out there, this site is still a work in progress.

During the last half of my spring break (which ends today, by the way) I had this sudden urge to return to my domain. I missed it and I wanted to do something about that. It wasn't until yesterday that I got extremely serious about this. I worked until around 6AM driven by the fact that the next day I'd have to sleep early for school and spring break would come to an end. I also knew that if I didn't revamp the majority of it before spring break ended, there was a 90% chance I would not return to my blog or domain for a long time. Mainly because I still have Spring Quarter of school with summer school afterwards and I'm pretty sure I'll be too busy (or tired) to work on revamping this site. And if I didn't revamp this site, I would have very little motivation to update. It's like I'm a little kid again. You only want to play with the new, shiny toys.

Oh yeah, additionally, my extra motivation for this revamp was the plan of canceling my host, Blue Host. They are awesome and I enjoyed being with them, but the truth is, they cost $100 a year (I bought them before they had the discount on their prices) and I really haven't used this expensive hosting to its full potential. So, it's time I look elsewhere for a host and look forward to a new beginning (or continuation, however you look at it).

As much as I love my splash page and having so many little separate subdomains (each with a different layout), I find it now very hard to keep up with all of them. I thought about it for a long time, and it's time I merge everything into one site (with the blog as the central location, since I update this the most) as much as possible. As much as I love my separate personal site "Pink Mist," which was also my first website ever, I have realized for a long time now that it is mostly outdated.

And lastly, the layout! It's a huge change from my last layouts. It's got these bright, crazy, pastel-like colors. I've spent too long catering to the "Pink Mist" theme of using pink, so now I'm using some different colors.

Here's to the new site and hopefully more frequent updates. 8-)

When I noticed this post on my RSS reader, I was like, whoa! Kim's back!

By the way, if you want hosting, I can host you on my server for free. I don't have cPanel on it, though, so some things may have to be done in a ghetto way.

Looking forward to seeing your coming works!

Hey Dave! I'm always surprised when you come to visit and comment after my long disappearances :p

Thanks for the offer, but my plans so far are to send applications to a few free hosting sites (with very cheap plans too!) And yes, I believe they have cpanel. :D But if I'm ever in need I will take you up on your generosity.

And btw, if you read this, when are you ever going to update your domain?!!!!!!

    Dave says:

Haha, yeah. I'll always be around. But I almost missed that comment, cause I didn't get any notifications.

I don't think my domain will ever come back to life. If you google for it, there are some things that connect me to me. I think that makes it unfit for professional use, since I want to present the best image to any employers that google me. And it'd also be unfit for personal use, because I don't want my personal stuff connected back to me either. :P

So maybe the solution would be to make 2 new identities — one for personal and the other for professional.

But I haven't been able to motivate myself to do that.
