Looks homemade but it’s not haha. We got to-go shaved ice and poured it into a bowl at home. It was disappointing because it turned into a watery soup of condensed milk by the time I started eating it. It’s okay, it was still good though. It’d be so much cheaper to make your own, but sometimes you just want that finely shaved ice to melt in your mouth, rather than the homemade kind where it tastes more like crushed ice.
My boyfriend and I love going to the dollar theater – we rarely go to full-prized theaters anymore. It’s just so expensive! Evening/night tickets cost over $20 for a pair of people! We’d rather spend that money getting food or something, haha. For most movies (except ones I’m super looking forward to), I have enough control to not need to watch them right away. I mean, once you can get over the hurdle of people talking about the movies, it’s not that hard to wait (and forget) for a few months before they show up in the dollar theater. Very cost-efficient.
On this particular day, we watched Breaking Dawn Part 1 for the poops and giggles. I have to be honest, it was actually surprisingly pretty good! I give this director/screenwriter or whoever major props because they made a really crappy book into a decent movie. Minus a few really hilariously cheesy parts, they minimized the amount of painful parts necessary compared to the book. If you want to suffer through this series, it is a much better idea to just watch the movies. The movies change it up a bit so that there’s a little more action, less badly written parts, more cinematic/exciting parts and some added funny/light-hearted parts.
So in the novel of Breaking Dawn, Jacob imprints on the infant, which I always saw as pedophilia, even though die-hard fans claim that it is not. lol. But in the movie, it was very tastefully done, where looking into the infant’s eyes and then transitioning into a cloudy/hazy vision of her older self in the future was much more understandable than the way it was cheesily and disgustingly described in the book. That is not to say that the whole idea of tying up loose ends by making Jacob imprint on the infant isn’t plainly ridiculous, but at the very least the movie made it more palatable than the book could ever hope to do.
Ever since I was little, I loved collecting knick-knacks. LOVE THEM. I would buy them, or my mom would buy them for me, or I would get them as gifts. Cute little things to display on my desk. Things that prove no purpose whatsoever, but make me happy to display them and look at their dusty, little selves once in a while. I still love them. haha. My desk used to be maybe 1/3 full of little doo-dads, but since I wanted to clear up a little more space on my desk and minimize the dust, I (painfully) decided which knack-knacks to retire and put away in a little box to keep (on my desk haha) or throw away. It’s still dusty in that area, but much more minimal now that I have less stuff. This is only one side of my desk, by the way. The other side has less knick-knacks and more things like tape, glue, photo frames, etc.
It’s about time I introduced my Sailor Moon poster. I’ve had it since maybe kindergarten or first grade, I believe…which was like 15 years ago??? Holy crap, way to feel old. Even though I realize I’m still a youngster in other aspects, haha. In kindergarten I became obsessed and in love with the Sailor Moon TV show. It was the American dubbed version obviously, but as a little kid you don’t really notice the terrible American voice actors at this young age. >_< Boy did I love Sailor Moon. I watched it every day. Since it’s so old, this wall scroll poster of mine is so faded now, but it really has stood against the test of time since it still looks pretty great! I didn’t take a picture of it but right next to it are three more laminated-paper-type Sailor Moon posters, hehe.
Meet my tissue box holder – it’s supposed to be a tofu. Hehe Shout out to my cousin who got it for me It definitely adds character to my tissue box and also makes sniffly time a little more cute. In this particular picture, I’m using a small square box rather than a long rectangular box like you’re supposed to. My mom tends to buy the square ones because she hates how the rectangular ones take up too much space.
